Michelle Obama, Fierce Fashion Icon

Woo hoo! The White House is getting a phenomenal fashionplate! Not since Jackie O. has D.C. seen such a sartorial presence. Luxaholics is in absolute love with Michelle O's poise, confidence and fabulous style. The package is picture perfect: the amazing posture, the toned bod, the dress-outside-the box clothing choices. She's the perfect Luxaholic because she's known to mix lower priced pieces (H&M, J.Crew) with higher priced designer outfits (see photo gallery). Let's check out some of this burgeoning fashion icon's chic, bold looks...

If Michelle Obama is a size 8-10 I am a triple zero. Classy lady...style icon...whitehouse getting some much needing style...YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. The style icons are her daughters. Michelle needs to have their stylist be hers!

LONGER PLEASE

I read about Michelle Obama as a fashion muse for 40+ women in the weekend Wall Street Journal. I think she looks fantastic! I really loved her purple Maria Pinto sheath. I wish that I could buy that exact dress.

An important fashion issue I wish she could champion is that day dresses are TOO SHORT. She is a lovely tall lady. Some companies that make clothing for tall women are dowdy. I am only 5-8 with long legs - most sheath dresses that I have tried on are TOO SHORT. It seems that even high-end designers choose to cut more dresses than to make a dress that is long enough.

I KNOW that this has got to be an issue for some people out there. I am 47 and a size 8-10. I see many younger women taller than me -SO I KNOW that some simply don't wear a dress because they can't find one. Designers should make day dresses at least 2-3 inches longer so that we don't look like we are wearing things we have out grown.

Michelle is taller than I am so know it must be an issue for her.

Ugly clothes on an angry elitest who got her expensive education from those "mean" American taxpayers.

oh please michelle obama looks dowdy... at best i was told the kennedy's were the mt everest of style and fashion... i said the obamas would just be an anthill

After working for Yves St laurent and Dior...boy she sure does need help!Nancy Reagan and Jackie o.were the only ones who had true style. Although Hillary looked GORGEOUS in her first Inaugural ball gown..and all the French agreed.

Um...thought we already decided that her fashion "expression" from the other night was horrendous. Why are we writing in such a way that assumes she's a fashion icon. She's no Jackie O.

The White House has had style since Oleg Cassini dressed Jackie Kennedy - the first designer to dress a First Lady. Tuesday night's dress and accessories were an unfortunate choice for the occasion. Michelle Obama is now on the world stage - her choices should reflect that.

No, she is not a fashion icon!

She is the epitome of style & anyone who can not see that has NO fashion sense. Her attire is chic & classy still very professional & affordable. Not a diva just very down to earth. Haters should keep moving because her style is Jackie-O of our time...& everyone will start dressing like her! so more cash for Target & H&M...

She definitely needs some fashion help!...I think everyone is entitled to express their opinion on the way she dresses....after all, we are paying for it aren't we???

Noooo she needs a bit of Luxadvice on dressing for the part

hmmm...the dress she wore last night was truley awful! Not sure about her style yet. She has to remember that she is now the First LADY and will have to dress alittle more professional.

People talked a lot of trash about the Narciso Rodriguez she wore last night. I thought she looked gorgeous. She has curves and she isn;t afraid of them. She always looks very classy and put together but not overdone. I cannot wait to see how she wows us with her fashion for the next four years.

I think Stacy and Clinton need to go see Michelle. We don't want to be embarrassed when she attends and or entertains.

This is one very classy lady, the white is going to get some much needed style
